MARKET GARDEN WILLMANN, GERMANY

SOLAR SYSTEM HEATS GREENHOUSES FOR BIO-VEGETABLES

  • Location: Ingersheim, Southern Germany
  • Solar heating of greenhouses
  • Collector area: 78 m²
  • Came into operation: Autumn 2011

The Demeter market garden Willmann in Ingersheim near Stuttgart produces organic vegetables on 5500 square metres in their greenhouses. The greenhouses must be heated not only in winter, but also during the transitional months and on cool summer days. Up to now on an average 50,000 litres of fuel oil were used for it annually.

About 10% of percent of it are saved now by a vacuum tube solar system with a surface of 78 m², which was built and put into operation in autumn 2011.

16 high-capacity collectors of Ritter XL Solar deliver solar warmth with a temperature of 90 °C in the 60.000-litre-buffer vessel of the greenhouse heating. Year after year about 13 tonnes of CO2 emissions are thereby avoided.
