The sun doesn’t just shine on roofs!

  • Location: Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland
  • Solar thermal system complementing existing gas heating system
  • Collector area: 687 m²
  • Came into operation: Summer 2010

Gorzow Wielkopolski lies in western Poland, around 70 km north-east of Frankfurt / Oder, and is the location of the regional hospital. The hospital uses a very large volume of hot water, and a high proportion of this is now supplied from solar thermal heating.

140 high performance collectors form a large collector field with an overall area of 687 m², which provides over 300,000 kWh of energy annually.

The striking aspect of this project is its siting on open ground. Wherever there’s room available, a location on open ground makes for a particularly easy, quick and cost-effective installation.
